Frequently Asked Questions

Our calculator uses standard medical formulas and is accurate for estimation purposes. However, only 5% of babies are born exactly on their due date. The actual delivery can occur 2 weeks before or after the calculated date.
The conception date method is most accurate if you know the exact ovulation/conception date. LMP method is most commonly used but assumes a standard 28-day cycle. Ultrasound dating by your doctor is the most accurate.
First trimester: Weeks 1-12, Second trimester: Weeks 13-27, Third trimester: Weeks 28-40. Each trimester brings different developments and milestones for both mother and baby.
If you have irregular periods, the LMP method may be less accurate. Consider using the conception date method if you tracked ovulation, or consult your healthcare provider for an early dating ultrasound.
Yes, your due date may be adjusted based on early ultrasound measurements, especially if there's a significant difference from the LMP calculation. Early ultrasounds (before 20 weeks) are most accurate for dating.
